Team Overview

Google Research is a division dedicated to advancing the frontiers of computer science and related fields. We foster a diverse research environment that supports a wide range of projects, from short-term applied research, to long-term riskier endeavors driven by scientific curiosity. Our goal is to create innovative solutions that have a significant impact on society and technology.

Our mission at Science AI, Google Research, is to enable scientific breakthroughs and discoveries that benefit humanity and radically accelerate scientific progress. One crucial area of focus for us is geospatial analysis and insight generation: the world faces complex, interconnected challenges—climate change, resource management, disaster response—all requiring sophisticated understanding of our planet. We believe that empowering geospatial analysts with cutting-edge AI tools is key to unlocking solutions to the world's most pressing societal and environmental challenges. Our aim is to leverage the transformative power of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) to assist with planning and code generation in geospatial analysis, dramatically accelerating analyst workflows.
