Account Setup¶
The Science AI Earth Engine Dataset Explorer requires two basic things for setup. If you are in the right room and want to join this hackathon you will be given a temporary login for the duration of the hackathon all the way till Friday the 27th 2024. This login allows you to create a Gemini API key. For the project you are using for the duration of the hackathon Vertex API and Google Earth Engine APIs are already enabled on this project. Best part is that we wanted people to join our hackathon without the fear of setting up a billing account, so this does not require anyone to create one. So keep those credit cards aside and get hacking!
APIs needed¶
If you are running this notebook after the hackathon on your own, you need three APIs to be enabled
- Google Earth Engine API
- Generative Language API (this will be automatically enabled when you create the API key using AI Studio in Google)
- Lastly you need to enable the Vertex AI API
Note
I highly recommend running this on a browser where you are not logged into your personal or additional Google account or simply switching to incognito mode for the hackathon. This is to simply ensure that accounts don't automatically keep switching to the default ones you might already be logged into
